Phone Home Boulders

A quality bouldering site located  at the entrance to the Columbia River Gorge.

Information

At present the site has over 250 boulder problems (VB-V9), with potential for more problems and higher grades.

The rock type is basaltic with a few conglomerate stones hear and there. The boulders originate from the cliff ban above and south of the stones.

Seasonal factors:
Its viable all year around as long as the rock is dry. Shade is prevalent in the summer to keep things a bit cooler.

Parking factors:
Free parking is available at the parking lot for Lewis and Clark state park. Winter and summer hours varies so check posted times at gate.

Lewis & Clark 400 Trail:
The trail to the boulders is the Lewis and Clark 400 trail. The first boulders start at about 1/2 mile from the parking area and continue in clusters till about the 2 mile mark where large BPA power lines cross the trail. Hiking times can be 15 minutes to 45 minutes depending on which cluster of boulders you hike to.
